I was pleased with the make up application for Claudia and felt like it came out how i wanted, a contemporary painted doll look. But if i were to develop my look, i would make a few changes. I would make the paint lines on her neck more dramatic and bolder, and also i would maybe do some paint splatters on the neck and the face which i did in one of my other face charts for Claudia. I was pleased with the outcome for the hair and feel it worked well with my look as a whole. However when i was doing my shoot, i had only practiced on a doll and one of my friends before hand. The model i was using however had a lot thicker hair, so i struggled getting the metal rings to stand up straight as her hair was much thicker and was pulling them down. So i had to use wire and props in the middle of them to keep them upright. Also looking back now at the photos, i notice that the hair coming down from the pony tail on one side it is higher than the other.
For Quentin i feel like it fit in really well with my theme with the film and was happy with the final images. If i could develop this look further or do it again i would make the black round the eyes darker and more defined. I would also want to do more with his hair even though theres not a lot to do with it as its so short, but i would experiment with different things in it, for example, putting black gaffa tape on the shaven sides.
I really enjoyed this project and feel I stuck the brief well. My outcomes show my
technical ability, creativity and consideration to the ‘live’ aspect of the project.
