Burns Practical.

Products:

  • Gelglyk gelatine.
  • Liquid Latex
  • Mastex glue and tissue.
  • (Make sure you have spirit gun remover to remover all products.)
Gelatine- You can use jelly crystals and meltdown 2 sachets to one water if on a budget. They also come in lots of colours, clear, blood, skin colour, dark skin. This product is used a lot on tv and film.
You can also add any texture into gelatine. Health and Safety! If adding texture to gelatine NO metal based e.g. glitter as it has to be melted down in microwave. No metal in microwave. Put in microwave in a bowl of cold water for 40 seconds approx.
You can meltdown gelatine as many times as you want.  (Vegetarian version- agar agar.)

Make sure you look at pictures of burns to find out what they look like. Always think about what happened, how it happened, colour, texture, burns come from within.
Burns stay shiny so don't powder over.

  • Break up tissue so thin and rough round edgers and place on skin and apply mastix glue over top. repeat these steps for how many layers you want. Pick up bits with a T pin to make it look more real.
  • Add colour using stipple pad and brushes using pictures as reference.
  • Add gelatine where you want. I also added pus and fake blood too.

The hand on the left is my work.
